Does sunburn turn into a tan?

No lecture. But sunburn and tan have similar roots. Sun affects melatonin in skin which defends itself by browning. Sunburn means too much exposure. Tan over a much longer period like 15 minutes twice a day instead of hours. If you are burning you are exposing for too long. I know laying out is fun but burning is dangerous now and later in life certainly.
